I volunteered 2 times at special Olympics with the track team, doing the same thing both times. I volunteered to work the high jump for the athletes. Some of the athletes needed help learning how to do it, so I stepped in and helped each athlete that needed help individually.

I lived out the charism of inclusiveness. Many teams don't accept these athletes and special Olympics helps them to stay in shape, have fun, and do the sport they love.

Yes. I had a lot of fun volunteering with my friends and talking with the athletes.

I was in charge of watching kids grades kindergarten to first grade. For 4 hours a day for 5 days, I monitored these kids and made sure they were engaged in the offered activities: games, crafts, snacks, Bible study, science, music/dance, church learning, and adoration.

I showed Hospitality by making sure all kids were involved and getting the most out of the VBS experience.

Absolutely. I've been doing VBS for 3 years and I am excited already for the 4th. It is something I enjoy doing to kick of my summer.

I altar serve mass almost every Saturday at 4:30pm at Immaculate Conception Parish. From September all the way through May, I served 24 masses and obtained 25 service hours. I'm getting better and I've been taking on new roles like holding the Thurible and even mentoring the next generation of altar servers at the church.

As I served, I made the church a more welcoming and hospitable place to be, proving the point that all ages can be included in the mass, and it is even celebrated that you attend. Because of this, my service best represented inclusiveness and hospitality.

Absolutely. I've been serving for many years, and I enjoy seeing all the people at church and listening to the gospel while also serving the Lord.

I volunteered for 1 hour at the McKinley Center. I helped people through the food pantry get what they needed. I gave amounts of food they could have and made sure to list all options.

Yes. McKinley Center is one of my go to places for volunteer work because of how nice everybody is there and how I get to hear about people's stories.

I helped my friend make wooden bleachers for his local baseball field. We made four bleachers and made a backrest on the top row.

The Boy Scouts traveled to people's houses in Wickliffe and picked up the food on their doorstep (we handed out fliers before this). We then brought the food to the Wickliffe food bank and organized it into groups to then be put onto the shelves.Are the service hours you completed COMPETENCE HOURS (learning about social justice issues) or COURAGE HOURS (direct or indirect service to others)?

Yes. I have been doing this since I was a Cub Scout, and I enjoy doing this each year with my friends and family.

I delivered fliers to doors around Wickliffe, explaining a food drive where you leave perishable food outside your door on a certain date, and the Boy Scouts will come pick them up and deliver them to the food bank.

Yes. I had a lot of fun with Jordan, my friends, and my family. I also learned how to use many different tools, and I believe that I will be in good shape for my Eagle Project, using Jordan as a good example.

My family and I went out on November 11th to deliver Thanksgiving food to people's doorsteps. We had two different houses to deliver food to, and we ran into a couple of roadblocks. The first house went well, and we delivered food on their doorstep. Although, the second place was an apartment building with the doors leading outside, so we had to call the person and wait a long time for her to notice the message. We eventually found the door and gave the delivery to her daughter.

My Advisory helped package food at the food bank on September 25, 2024. Beforehand, we watched a movie about food insecurity, which is not knowing where your next meal comes from and being ashamed that you can't afford food to feed your family. At the food bank, I put bottles of orange juice into a box filled with the rest of the various items and shipped them to food pantries around the food bank's 6 county partners to feed the hungry. At the Immaculate Conception Oktoberfest, I volunteered at the basketball kid's game on the 20th of July. I learned how to manage large crowds of children, and how to run a game and improvise any mistakes if something happened.

I helped retire American flags on the 14th of June. Me and another Boy Scout placed flags into a fire and buried the ashes at the end.

Yes. I enjoyed the respectful aspect of this, and it means a lot to the soldiers and families who have suffered greatly under the wing of these flags.

I enjoyed helping out at the car wash. I washed cars for the first half of the time, and held signs by the road for the rest.
