As I was walking in, I was surprised by the size of the building and it helped me realize how many people near me struggle. I have never thought that the person next to me might not have the ability to eat 4 or 5 meals a day like I do. It also opened my eyes to a struggle in peoples lives that I never really took the time to learn about. I feel like because I have recourses that some others don't like a big community and food, I could help people and that is what I want to do. I believe that after Gilmour Academy, I will continue to volunteer and make change for the lives or the suffering.
